Has there ever been a presidency with as many scandals as the Obama administration?

  • Posted on October 5, 2011 at 12:02 am

Here is the list.
1- the USA lost the AAA credit rating under his administration thanks to the rampant deficit he brought us.
2- aunt living in the USA illegally living in US tax payers supported housing in Boston
3- uncle gets DUI in L.A. who is allegedly here illegally and so far still here and gets the one call…he calls the white house….Obama has no response to this topic.
4- Fast and Furious
5- Solyndra losing hundreds of millions of tax payers money and giving to a political crony fundraiser
6- Bailing out the GM union while wiping out bondholders, having the government buy GMAC from GM, and then turning around the buying AmeriCredit for GM. Does that make any sense why they would do that to anyone?

What else can you add to the growing list of scandals of this administration? Do you think Solyndra could be Obama’s water gate?

Trouble making car payment?

  • Posted on July 26, 2011 at 4:48 am

I lost my job on July 31st and thankfully with unemployment have been making the payments on my car monthly (they are 369$ and unemployment totals only 1000$ a month). Just wondering, if I did call the loan people (I go through Americredit) and said that I was having difficulites, what experiences have you had where they may work with me and what options would I get?

License Plate/Car Questions?

  • Posted on July 25, 2011 at 4:48 am

I just have a question, I moved to PA from a different state about 3years ago with an SUV my parents bought me before I moved out here. The car is still in my moms name and still has the other state’s license plates but I want to change it over to my name so I can get PA plates, I’m also thinking about turning the car in for something else. Can I just trade it in, even though it’s under my mom’s name? I have just been getting the car inspected (which is only every 2years) last year I didn’t have to worry about it, my dad could just send me the tags but this year, I have to get a state inspection which can be done whether it’s an out of state car or not, and then I just send the completed paperwork to my dad and he mails me the tags but it’s just so time consuming.
My mom says that americredit (which is where they got the car loan from) will not let her sign the title over to me unless it’s all the way paid off. I’m the one who’s making payments on it, on time every month… I don’t have good enough credit and my husband doesn’t want it under his name at all…Any advice??
I forgot to add that my mom wants it out of her name and switched to mine…

I need to learn all i can about a repo in Illinois, what happens if I can’t make a car payment?

  • Posted on July 24, 2011 at 2:24 am

I have a new car which I purchased while I had a Good job with the state, but the governor cut the budget to my program and i was laid off. I am not behind on any of my car payments but it is getting harder and harder to make it. I have informed my loan co (americredit) about my lay off but i need to be informed as to what happens…do they take my car if i miss one payment? Do I have to be behind before they will even discuss options with me ?? and on their website i saw something about a 1099-C, what is that too? With the depression we are in it’s getting so hard to even put food on the table ..i need all the info anyone can give me and please …I’m not a deadbeat so please be kind.
so the 1099-C is what is left in the difference between what they would sell my car for and i would have to report that as income..would i still have to pay that amount to the finance co too or is it an either or type????

What is the APR of my car financing loan?

  • Posted on July 23, 2011 at 12:01 am

Americredit financed my 2006 Chevrolet HHR LT for 18,853.01 last year (March 2007). I’m paying 9.46 (3.52 principal + 5.94 interest) every month for 72 months, with 60 months remaining. I got this car when my credit was in the Bad range. Now after rebuilding since then its in the Good range. I want to refinance my car since these payments are too high and I’m paying way more than this car is worth. What is my current car financing APR %?

What do you think of this? I am scared?

Then they asked when our mom will get home and she said around 6 and then the guy said "well thats okay sweetie we will come back later". Then they drove off. There were 2 of them and 1 was wearing a pink shirt th blue stripes and the other had a mohawk and a beard thing. Pink shirt had light blonde hair and the other had black hair. They were both male and before they came up to my little sister there were 3 ifferent cars that kept stopping near our drive way and looking aroung at our house.lease help we are both scared. You should know that tax collectors call our house alot like americredit. What do you think of this please help us. Whho do you think this is?

Should I make a complaint about my auto loan companys billing practices?

  • Posted on July 14, 2011 at 9:46 pm

My auto loan is through AmeriCredit in Phoenix, Az. I havent received my billing statement yet and my payment due date is Mar. 27th. The soonest I can possibly receive my bill is Monday(3/17) I live in New York so it will take probably 3-4 days for my payment to reach them. Shouldn’t consumers receive their bills within a reasonable amount of time before the due date?(say 2 weeks for example) Would it do any good to file a complaint with someone?(Atty. Gen. or FTC)

*They do have an online payment option but charge for it and I won’t pay their outrageous fees. This late billing practice just smells like a shady way for them to generate extra revenue thru collecting online payment fees or late fees.

My Situation (Car Accident I am a Victim of)?

  • Posted on July 14, 2011 at 5:43 am

Okay. Here’s the story.

On March 9th, at approximately 8:50 PM, I was driving down a road in Columbia, SC (where I currently reside). The traffic light was green, had on my seatbelt, driving a very very VERY normal speed, and as I made the turn, a driver zoomed through the red light and "T-boned" me, completely damaging the back door on the driver’s side. The car spun a little and thankfully, I wasn’t injured (or worse) and wasn’t hit by any other incoming traffic. There were no eyewitnesses, to my recollection, and the intersection is busy, as there is a restaurant, gas station, a bank (of course, closed at night though), and business around the interesection. We both remained at the accident scene until the cops, ambulance, and firetrucks arrived. We both were questioned. In the police report (green sheet I mailed to my insurance company, Geico), the "Contributed to Collision" spot was checked "Yes" under her name, but "No" under mines. Turns out, we both have Geico insurance. Alright, cool. Went to the hospital that night for evaluation and checked out okay. Got back home that night, and one of the cops/highway patrol guys/officers (SOMEBODY, I don’t know LOL) called my phone…and VIVIDLY said this: "We reviewed surveillance video at the store near the accident scene, and it clearly shows sir that the other party was at fault". They then told me to pick up my police report that next morning.

I missed work the next day to handle all the errands of picking up the police report, securing a rental car, on the phone all morning with Geico, etc. The next day, I return to work, her adjuster called me..recorded our conversation/questioning of the accident…..My own Geico adjuster calls me..and I give her the full story, copy of the police report, etc. Told her that SOMEBODY from the highway patrol/local authorities called my phone that night and told me that they reviewed surveillance video at that store…so she (my adjuster) sends a local person out to the store to try to contact somebody with knowledge about the video. It’s been a week now, and the store manager (and people on duty) deny there being surveillance video capturing the accident. The manager told my local adjuster that he looked at the video and saw nothing indicating an accident.

Sooo..she notifies my main adjuster, and she (and the driver’s adjuster) work with the information they DO have to come to an "agreement"…my adjuster called me today with the decision on this "agreement": that since I had "65% of control of the lane", that I’ll be liable for 35%. At this point, my mouth drops like a bad habit. I’m like, huh? WHY IN HELL SHOULD I BE LIABLE FOR ANYTHING? I told her that I refuse to accept that, and she caught a NASTY ATTITUDE on the phone, going off about how I ‘"HAD a week to find evidence to prove that I wasn’t liable"….BS! First of all, I’M THE VICTIM! WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO FIND THIS EVIDENCE? Matter of fact, WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO GO OUT OF MY WAY TO DO ANY OF THIS MESS? WHY ISN’T THERE A SYSTEM IN PLACE ALREADY FOR LOCAL AUTHORITIES/INSURANCE COMPANIES/CAR FINANCE PEOPLE/LIEN HOLDERS to arrange all the necessary contacts with each other? It’s STUPID! I gave a call this evening to this adjuster’s supervisor, noting her nasty attitude and thinly veiled demand/threat that I HAD to find proof by today (or tomorrow) or that I would have to accept this current liability crap. Excuse the caps, but I’m really (rightfully) ticked here. I have full coverage on my car (0 deductible), etc. This is some "side" information, but the car that was totalled in the accident was a 2007 Honda Accord financed through AmeriCredit, which I owed about ,000 still on (Geico will give them about ,000 for the car), leaving me with ,000, coupled with the amount I will have to pay for the new car I get (whenever I have time to get it after work the next couple days). And, no, my dumb behind did not get GAP coverage..but I will get that place on this new vehicle.

Anyway, that’s the story.

Questions:

1. It’s pretty obvious now that I have legal options already set in place, but for now (to FIGHT having to accept the liability "agreement" made by my about-to-be-former adjuster and the other driver’s adjuster), what can I do NEXT to make sure they don’t place this 35% liability in my hands?

2.) Even IF I, in the end, wind up 0% liable, will my insurance go up?

3.) IF, at some point (due to miscommunication or something) that surveillance video does show up, and/or turns out that it DOES exist, would anybody advise me taking legal action against Geico, the local authorities, and the store…ALL for their sloppy, inept, unprofessional, confusing, and down right RIDICULOUS handling of my accident matter?

All of these questions/thoughts are ASIDE from the fact that I spent too much money, time, energy, resources , and stress towards this entire matter the past 8 days….and have suffered (what I VOCALLY believe is) utter GAR
ALSO, do I need to look out for any points applied to my driver’s license/driving record? Like I said, I wasn’t at fault at all….just seems like this whole thing is a STUPID stupid matter of me having to find hardcore proof of my innocence…something I PASSIONATELY feel I SHOULDN’T HAVE TO DO! I don’t even know where to look, if indeed there’s no surveillance video or eyewitnesses. Again, thanks in advance for your responses and support!

My Car Just Got Repoed! What Next?

  • Posted on July 12, 2011 at 12:03 am

Well basically, let me give you the back ground. I actually know what comes next, and I know the process, but I would like to hear from all of you, just for feedback, and to make sure I’m not missing anything.

So I financed a car through AmeriCredit, a junk sub-prime lender. Yes, Yes, it’s my own fault, I signed the contract, and dug my own hole. Anyways, I financed about ,000; that is after putting down ,900. The APR was 19.99. Now I have been making payments every month, on time for the last 2 and half years. Since July of 2006. My last payment to them was in Janurary 2010. I have been paying about 5 a month. I have paid well over ,000. Now, my wife just had a baby, and due to medical reasons, she can not work.

So I called them up, and told them that I am unable to pay this high amount. They did not do refinances. . and no other company would touch it because I just owed way too much, more than the car was worth. Mind you, it was a Chrysler and they went out of business. So my only option was to surrender the car. Hell, I even dropped it off at the repo place; I’m such a nice guy.

Now I get my bill, the amount is over ,000. This is fees, and interest, and what not. HaHa, I am not paying that crap. A judge is going to have to force me to pay, that is the only way they will see a dime. But they didn’t even auction the car yet. And they are telling me to pay in full.

Now here is something some may want to answer. What are my rights during a repo. For example, doesnt the company have to tell me when and where they are going to auction the car off? Isnt that the law. They did say in the last letter with the bill, to call this phone number for information about this repossession. Is that suffient enough? I live in WA, and not sure where the company is based out of.

Another question, What is the chances that they take me to court, and a judge forces me to pay 000 for a car that I don’t even own anymore. O. . . and will they sieze my money in my bank accounts, or will I get advance notice of that.

For the people that read this, and responded,. . thank you. I love Yahoo Answers and appreciate all that help out.

All comments and advice is welcomed.
Why do you repeat, as if to mock "Im a nice Guy." You say it as if, because I had an issue paying back a car loan, I am actually not a nice guy. Now Me saying that I will not pay them back, I am saying that I will file bk first, as I can’t afford to pay back 000 one way or another. Yes I am a very nice guy, just my financial status has changed, as with the majority of the middle class people in the US tyring to get by, make a living, and live their lives to the best of their ability.

Thanks for the feedback.
One more thing. . As far as rights. . the consumer has many rights during a repo. . for example . .Breach of peace is a right to the consumer, as well as notice of the sale of the vehicle. Also, in some states, if you tell the repo man that he can’t take your car, well he just can’t take your car. Thanks again.
