Someone I know is on probation for an MIP, and is going to get breathalyzed obviously. Can the probation officer also give a drug test for other drugs? or are they not allowed to. Just curious.

and don’t tell me that if he got caught he shouldn’t do anything to make him worry about it, etc.

I have a job.. part of me being able to keep that job is that I undertake random drug and alcohol testing for the priviledge of paying tax to people who sit around and smoke pot all day long.. Your thoughts??

As I am aware, there are a few states now, including Florida, that have/will be requiring Welfare recipients to submit to a drug test. Now, whether or not they should be tested is a different discussion and not one I’m looking for an answer to. However, I have done some searching myself and can’t seem to find an answer to this.

Obviously if you take these tests and they find marijuana, cocaine, meth, etc., in your system, that’s a no-no. However, what if they find alcohol in your system? Or even nicotine? I believe the drug tests are meant to find people who may be spending the money they receive on drugs, but I think the purpose would be defeated if they could instead buy and drink as much alcohol as they’d like and it wouldn’t raise any flags on the test.

So my question is, if someone on welfare is tested, can alcohol appear on it? And if it does, will this take away the money they get in aid?

I recently got a Possession of Marijuana and my court date is this Monday, I expect that they may ask for a drug test on the court date to make sure I have not been doing anything. I have not smoked since the inital arrest so I know I fine with everything but was curious if anyone has been in the same situation and knows if alcohol will show up. I just recently took a drug test. I use to drink due to personal problems but I had the courage to quit. The most recent test I was positive for alcohol. I SWEAR I DID NOT DRINK. I was taking the cough syrup Robutussin for a few days prior to the test due to obviously being sick with a cough and the flu. I do live in New Jersey. I explained that to my counceler and and she gave me some mumbo jumbo that they can tell the difference between alcohol and cough syrup on the test. How is this possible I did not drink. All test prior to this have come up clean because I havent drank in 92 days. Is there a way to challenge this because this cannot be. Has this hapened to anybody else. THANK YOU
