Im getting 6 buses tommorow. i have heard that after u spend £4 it will not charge you for any more buses you get on, is that true? will i only need £4 on my oyster card if im getting on only buses?

I paid TEN POUNDS for a student oyster card and topped up FIVE pounds on it. I touched it on the bus and it took £1.30 off. Do I not get a discount at all? Is there something I have to do first before I get a discount on the bus???

My child oyster card runs out on Friday 30th September, however ive still got around £40 on it and there is no way ill spend £40 on travel in 3 days. Will i be able to transfer this money onto my adult oyster card when i get it on friday? Otherwise i’ll have £40 on my child oyster card and wont be able to use it.
